中学
Food and eating are an important part of every student’s day. Because we believe that students must eat well in order to learn to the best of their abilities, Lakeside 中学’s dining room is open for breakfast, 午餐, and afternoon snacks.
Healthy meals are prepared fresh each day by our kitchen staff, and feature a variety of flavors. Typical 午餐 specials include tandoori chicken with spiced potatoes and green beans, 鸡秋葵, and the always-popular grilled cheese and tomato soup. Led by a professional chef, our kitchen staff sources as many ingredients as possible from local sustainable farmers and producers. Vegetarian alternatives are always available, and food is labeled to help students manage food allergies.
In addition to prepared food, the kitchen offers soups, sandwiches, healthy snacks, and a salad bar. Many students regularly bring food from home, and a microwave is available for student use.
Lunch clean-up at the 中学 is a community event. All students are expected to clean up after themselves, and sort their waste into trash, 回收, and compost bins. Two to three times a year, students work in their advisory groups to wipe down tabletops, 扫地, and take out the 回收 after the last 午餐 period.
